PBO:0092002 - this gene is located in the silent mating type region mat2 and is therefore not expressed. It is only transcribed when at the mat1 locus, which is the mating type configuration of h+ cells. The S. pombe reference strain is h- mating type and express h- specific mating genes from the mat1 locus. The silenced mat2 genes are therefore annotated with mat1 h+ specific information
