A physical cellular phenotype observed in the vegetative growth phase of the life cycle in which actin cortical patches are localized to only one end of a cell following cell division; patches may localize to either the old or the new end. A population of cells with this phenotype has a 1:1 mix of cells with actin patches at the old end and cells with patches at the new end.
