A cell phenotype observed in the vegetative growth phase of the life cycle in which the localization of a protein to nuclear exosome foci does not occur. Nuclear exosome foci, also called Mmi1 nuclear foci, are small structures that form within the nucleus, and contain proteins involved in degrading meiosis-specific RNAs during the mitotic cell cycle, such as Mmi1, Iss10, and Red1.
