A cellular process phenotype observed in the vegetative growth phase of the life cycle in which nucleotide-excision repair is decreased during a cellular response to ultraviolet light. Nucleotide-excision repair is a DNA repair process in which a small region of the strand surrounding the damage is removed as an oligonucleotide, and the resulting small gap is filled in by the sequential action of DNA polymerase and DNA ligase.
