Term summary

ID
FYPO:0003346
Name
abnormal meiotic recombination at silent mating-type cassette
Ontology or CV name

Definition
A cellular process phenotype in which reciprocal meiotic recombination is abnormal at the silent mating-type cassettes. Meiotic recombination is a cellular process in which double strand breaks are formed and repaired through a double Holliday junction intermediate, resulting in the equal exchange of genetic material between non-sister chromatids in a pair of homologous chromosomes.
