- A cellular process phenotype observed in the vegetative growth phase of the life cycle in which the occurrence of double-strand break repair via nonhomologous end joining (NHEJ) is normal (i.e. indistinguishable from wild type). NHEJ is the repair of double-strand breaks in DNA in which the two broken ends are rejoined with little or no sequence complementarity.
