- Definition
- A cell morphology phenotype in which a vegetatively growing cell is elongated, is curved along the long axis to form a \"J\" shape, and contains cytoplasmic microtubules that curve to follow the long axis of the cell. In a curved cell, the long axis follows a smooth bend rather than a straight line. In a J-shaped cell, the curve is centered away from the midpoint of the long axis of the cell.
