- A physical cellular phenotype observed in the vegetative growth phase of the life cycle in which cells contain a normal (i.e. indistinguishable from wild type) number of half-mer polysomes in the cytosol. A half-mer polysome is a complex consisting of an mRNA bound to a single small ribosomal subunit, followed by one or more complete bound ribosomes.
