- A cellular process phenotype observed in the vegetative growth phase of the life cycle in which negative regulation of transcription by glucose (glucose repression) occurs to a greater extent than normal. Specific genes that are normally not transcribed in the presence of glucose are not derepressed in the mutant under conditions that derepress transcription in wild type cells.
