- Definition
- A biological process phenotype in which meiotic drive occurs to a lower extent than normal, or does not occur at all, despite the presence of a gene or allele that normally causes drive. Meiotic drive results in the unequal transmission of alleles, haplotypes, or chromosomes from a parental genome to such that are unequally represented (i.e. the \"driver\" is overrepresented) among the surviving products of meiosis.
