Phenotype
Definition
A cell morphology phenotype in which a vegetatively growing cell is viable and elongates at a normal rate, but divides when a shorter time than normal has elapsed since the previous cell division. Daughter cells therefore have an abnormally low volume. Note that these small viable cells result from a cell cycle size regulation defect.
